The aim of Dry Needling is to help reduce pain & soreness.

What does Dry Needling do?
  • Reduce muscle tightness. .
  • Ease tendinitis and muscle inflammation
  • and/or promote healing.
Does Dry Needling Work?
Yes!
Dry Needling can provide structural, biochemical, and electrical changes in the properties of muscle. That allows the muscle to function more effectively, reducing recovery time and time off due to injury.

Does Dry Needling Hurt?
The actual inserting of the needle does not hurt
These needles are very thin. Sometimes the muscle will twitch when you put it in, and it can feel sore if that happens. You will usually feel a little muscle ache or soreness for a day or two afterwards but this only normally feels like you have been working  out the particular muscle area.

Who should NOT have Dry Needling?

Dry needling is not for those with un-managed blood-clotting or immune-system disorders.
Dry needling treatment is NOT recommended for children younger than 12.

Always check with your medical provider or physical therapist if you have concerns.

What should you NOT do after Dry Needling?

After dry needling, it is important to rest and avoid any strenuous activity for at least 24 hours. This is because the needles used in dry needling cause small micro trauma to the muscle tissue, which can lead to soreness and inflammation. Resting allows the body to heal and recover from the treatment.
